What You’ll Learn in Your Excavator Training

Our excavator training approach ensures you master all required skills for civil construction plant operations:

  • Includes planning and preparing for excavator operations

Excavator Course Structure

Theory Component: Complete your theoretical knowledge through our flexible delivery options. Theory sessions run Monday mornings at 7:30am, with online theory available for those who can’t attend in person.

Practical Training: Get behind the controls with our expertise and practical demonstration. Our students will work safely with heavy machinery during practical sessions available:

  • Monday to Saturday from 7:30am
  • Wednesday and Thursday nights from 4:00pm

Persons who are working in, or intend to work in the building, mining and/or construction industries operating an excavator to perform load shifting tasks.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Diggerman Training offers different excavator courses tailored to suit different students needs based on experience and other factors such as time, having access to your own machine and/or to allow students the maximum amount of practical time on the machine itself.

Students will learn to operate an excavator in a safe and efficient manner. The course will include the following:

  • Plan and prepare
  • Conduct machine pre-operational checks
  • Operate excavator
  • Lift, carry and place materials
  • Select, remove and fit attachments
  • Relocate the excavator
  • Carry out machine operator maintenance
  • Clean up

Your training will be divided up into two parts firstly theory and once that is completed a practical section. After being taught both how to operate the excavator correctly and all the required theoretical knowledge you will be tested on both areas.

Upon successful completion of the unit a Statement of Attainment will be issued.

Participants will receive a wallet card consisting of one (1) nationally recognised unit of competency.

Very highly recommend using these guys for licensing and voe. Easy to talk to and ask questions very knowledgeable, there experience will show within minutes can teach anyone to do anything. It's not all serious will have a laugh throughout the course/s. Highly maintained gear clean facilities and smoko van on the practical day aswel as a coffee van for that pick me up. No pressure in how fast you learn it's all at your own pace. If your looking for tickets these guys are second to none.

The forklift course is delivered over 3 days, and has a good mix of theory vs. practical. All materials provided for theory are easy to understand and well formatted for your success in completion. I spent 18+years in hospitality and wanted a caarer change and decided to get into civil construction. I went to Diggerman to do my traffic control course. With much help and support I got my licence and got a job traffic controlling. While doing my licence, Fingers (my tutor) encouraged me to get my heavy wheels and rollers ticket. I returned a few months later and got my rollers ticket. While doing my Rollers ticket again Fingers and Graham encouraged me to get my Haul truck and front end loader ticket. In Which I did. I also got water cart ticket and more with there encouragement, Plus my level 2 traffic control licence. I am so thankful to Diggerman and all there team for all the help, support and encouragement that they gave me as I am now working on one of the biggest construction sites on the sunshine coast with a great company driving haul trucks, Rollers etc absolutely loving it.
