About Diggerman Training

Nationally recognised training in civil construction, earthmoving and high-risk work, delivered by people who have spent their careers on the tools.

Diggerman Training is a family-operated Registered Training Organisation based at Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast. We hold RTO Provider Number 31589 and train operators across Queensland, from complete beginners through to experienced operators who just need their ticket.

A training company built on real industry experience

Diggerman Training grew out of the earthmoving industry, not a classroom. We have been part of Queensland’s civil construction and earthmoving industry since 2003, and we still run training the way the work actually happens: on real machines, with people who have done the job.

That connection matters. Our training arm is backed by Diggerman Earthmoving, which supplies the machinery students operate during practical training. You learn on real, well-maintained equipment on our Coolum site, not a simulator and not someone else’s hired gear.

We keep class sizes small, so every student gets proper hands-on supervision. The goal is simple. We want you to be qualified, confident, and ready to work.

Trainers Who Have Done The Work

Every Diggerman Training course is delivered by trainers with 20+ years of industry experience. These are people who have operated the machinery, worked the sites, and understand what employers actually expect from a competent operator.

That experience is why students drive in from across the state to train with us. It is also why so many reviews mention the trainers by name. You are learning from operators who can explain not just how to pass the assessment, but how to do the job properly and safely once you are on site.

You can meet the team on Our Team page.

What we train

Diggerman Training delivers more than 40 nationally recognised courses, covering the tickets and qualifications most in demand across the civil construction and earthmoving industry:

  • Earthmoving and machinery operation: excavator, front end loader, roller, skid steer / bobcat, bulldozer, grader, backhoe, and haul truck
  • High-risk work licences: forklift, dogging, rigging, scaffolding, cranes, and elevating work platforms
  • Workplace safety: working at heights, confined spaces, white card, and first aid
  • Qualifications: Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations and related civil construction qualifications
  • Verification of Competency (VOC): for experienced operators who need their competency formally assessed

Many courses are eligible for CSQ funding, which can significantly reduce the cost. You can see current dates, pricing, and funding on our courses page.

Where we train

Our training facility is at Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast, a short drive north of Brisbane. Most courses run from here, where students have full access to the machinery, simulators, and training yard.

We are now training in Townsville too. Diggerman Training has a trainer based in Townsville delivering nationally recognised civil construction and machinery courses locally, so North Queensland operators can get ticketed without travelling away. Many Townsville courses are CSQ funded, with no gap fee on selected courses, and bookings are by enquiry while we get the operation established. You can see what is on offer on our Townsville courses page.

For businesses outside the Sunshine Coast, we also deliver on-site training across Queensland. We bring the trainers and the assessment to you, and your team trains on your equipment or ours. Minimum numbers apply.

We regularly train operators from across the state, including Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Toowoomba, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns. If you are an employer wanting staff trained on-site, see our on-site training options for Brisbane and surrounding regions.
