COURSE OVERVIEW

This unit covers conducting skid steer loader operations in the civil construction industry. It includes: planning and preparing; conducting machine pre-operational checks; operating skid steer loaders; lifting, carrying and placing materials; selecting, removing and fitting attachments; relocating the skid steer loaders; carrying out machine operator maintenance; and cleaning up.

Our extremely experienced trainers maintain their industry currency by also being part of the operational earthmoving teams.

They will use this knowledge to train you to the highest standard.

Persons who are working in, or intend to work in the building, road maintenance, mining and/or construction industries operating a skid-steer to perform various tasks.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Diggerman Training offers different skid-steer training courses tailored to suit different students needs based on experience and other factors such as time, having access to your own machine and/or to allow students the maximum amount of practical time on the machine.

Students will learn to operate a roller in a safe and efficient manner. The course will include the following:

  • Plan and prepare
  • Conduct machine pre-operational checks
  • Operate skid-steer
  • Lift, carry and place materials
  • Select, remove and fit attachments
  • Relocate the skid-steer
  • Carry out machine operator maintenance
  • Clean up

Your training will be divided up into two parts firstly theory and once that is completed a practical section. After being taught both how to operate the skid-steer correctly and all the required theoretical knowledge you will be tested on both areas.

Upon successful completion of the unit a Statement of Attainment will be issued. Participants will receive a wallet card consisting of one (1) nationally recognised unit of competency.

Long Sleeve Hi-Visibility Shirt (or Long Sleeve Shirt with a Hi-Visibility Vest), Long Pants, Steel Cap Safety Boots, Hard Hat (Optional), Safety Glasses (Optional).

Training is conducted at our main office (13 Junction Drive Coolum, Queensland 4573).
