EWP TRAINING COURSE OVERVIEW

This unit specifies the outcomes required to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) for licensing purposes, and involves the operation of a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device or any combination of these used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work. The 11 metre boom length shall be taken to mean the greater of the following:

(a) The vertical distance from the floor of the platform to the surface supporting the elevating work platform with the platform at its maximum height; or

(b) The nominal reach, measured horizontally from the centre point of rotation to the outer edge of the platform in its most extended position.

Our point of difference here at Diggerman Training is that we are also a large earthmoving company, which operates all over Queensland.

This means that we are part of the industry, in touch with its needs and trends.

Our extremely experienced trainers maintain their industry currency by also being part of the operational earthmoving teams.

They will use this knowledge to train you to the highest standard.

Persons who are working in, or intend to work in the building, mining and/or construction industries operating an elevated work platform to perform various tasks.

Students must be 18+ to complete a high risk course.

This Course is a 3 day course.

Students will learn to operate an elevated work platform (EWP) in a safe and efficient manner. The course will include the following:

  • ​Plan work
  • Conduct machine preoperational checks
  • Set up elevated work platform
  • Operate elevated work platform
  • Shut down and secure elevated work platform

Your training will be divided up into two parts firstly theory and once that is completed a practical section.

Upon successful completion of the unit a Statement of Attainment will be issued. Participants will receive an email from WHS with their CAS application. They will have 60 days to apply for their high-risk licence.

Long Sleeve Hi-Visibility Shirt (or Long Sleeve Shirt with a Hi-Visibility Vest), Long Pants, Steel Cap Safety Boots, Hard Hat (Optional), Safety Glasses (Optional).

Training is conducted at our main office (13 Junction Drive Coolum, Queensland 4573).

Very highly recommend using these guys for licensing and voe. Easy to talk to and ask questions very knowledgeable, there experience will show within minutes can teach anyone to do anything. It's not all serious will have a laugh throughout the course/s. Highly maintained gear clean facilities and smoko van on the practical day aswel as a coffee van for that pick me up. I spent 18+years in hospitality and wanted a caarer change and decided to get into civil construction. I went to Diggerman to do my traffic control course. With much help and support I got my licence and got a job traffic controlling. While doing my licence, Fingers (my tutor) encouraged me to get my heavy wheels and rollers ticket. I returned a few months later and got my rollers ticket. While doing my Rollers ticket again Fingers and Graham encouraged me to get my Haul truck and front end loader ticket. In Which I did. I also got water cart ticket and more with there encouragement, Plus my level 2 traffic control licence. I am so thankful to Diggerman and all there team for all the help, support and encouragement that they gave me as I am now working on one of the biggest construction sites on the sunshine coast with a great company driving haul trucks, Rollers etc absolutely loving it.
