This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a slewing mobile crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity of over 100 tonnes in accordance with all relevant legislative responsibilities. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant.

Slewing mobile crane means a mobile crane incorporating a boom or jib that can be slewed, bot does not include a front-end loader, or a backhoe, or other earth moving equipment, when configured for crane operation.

A person performing this work is required to hold a slewing mobile crane with a MRC over 100 tonnes HRWL.

This unit require a person operating a slewing mobile crane with an MRC 100 tones to plan for the work/task, prepare for the work/task, perform work/task and pack up.

Licensing/ Regulatory Information

Legislative and regulatory requirements are applicable to this unit of competency.

This unit is based on the licensing requirements of Part 4.5 of the Model work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and meets Commonwealth, start and territory HRWL requirements.

The National Assessment Instrument (NAT( is the mandated assessment for the HRWL to operate the relevant licensing class as detailed in this unit.

Our extremely experienced trainers maintain their industry currency by also being part of the operational earthmoving teams.

They will use this knowledge to train you to the highest standard.

Persons who are working in, or intend to work in the building, road maintenance, mining and/or construction industries operating a backhoe to perform various tasks.

Students must be 18+ to complete a high risk course.

This is a 5 day course.

This unit requires a person operating a slewing mobile crane with an MRC over 100 tonnes to:
• plan for the work/task
• prepare for the work/task
• perform work/task
• pack up.

Your training will be divided up into two parts firstly theory and once that is completed a practical section. After being taught all the required theoretical knowledge and practical skills you will be tested on both areas.

Upon successful completion of the unit a Statement of Attainment will be issued. Participants will receive an email from WHS with their CAS application. They will have 60 days to apply for their high-risk licence.

Long Sleeve Hi-Visibility Shirt (or Long Sleeve Shirt with a Hi-Visibility Vest), Long Pants, Steel Cap Safety Boots, Hard Hat (Optional), Safety Glasses (Optional).
Training is conducted at our main office (13 Junction Drive Coolum, Queensland 4573).

Very highly recommend using these guys for licensing and voe. Easy to talk to and ask questions very knowledgeable, there experience will show within minutes can teach anyone to do anything. It's not all serious will have a laugh throughout the course/s. Highly maintained gear clean facilities and smoko van on the practical day aswel as a coffee van for that pick me up. No pressure in how fast you learn it's all at your own pace. If your looking for tickets these guys are second to none.

I spent 18+years in hospitality and wanted a caarer change and decided to get into civil construction. I went to Diggerman to do my traffic control course. With much help and support I got my licence and got a job traffic controlling. While doing my licence, Fingers (my tutor) encouraged me to get my heavy wheels and rollers ticket. I returned a few months later and got my rollers ticket. While doing my Rollers ticket again Fingers and Graham encouraged me to get my Haul truck and front end loader ticket. In Which I did. I also got water cart ticket and more with there encouragement, Plus my level 2 traffic control licence. I am so thankful to Diggerman and all there team for all the help, support and encouragement that they gave me as I am now working on one of the biggest construction sites on the sunshine coast with a great company driving haul trucks, Rollers etc absolutely loving it.
