Please note: This course is run every week with multiple time slots. Mondays is theory at 7.30am. Online theory is avaialble if you can’t make it on a Monday morning. Monday to Saturday practical’s at 7.30am and Wednesdays and Thursdays at 4pm. Please enquire if you require a course not listed below.

CONDUCT TELESCOPIC MATERIALS HANDLER OPERATIONS COURSE OVERVIEW

The course covers a range of topics, including pre-operational checks, operational techniques, load and haul procedures, shut down and secure equipment, and hazard identification and risk management. Participants will also learn about the importance of communication and teamwork in the workplace, as well as the legal and regulatory requirements for operating telescopic materials handlers.

The RIIHAN309F Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations course is suitable for workers in the resources and infrastructure industries who are required to operate telescopic materials handlers as part of their job role. This course is suitable for workers who operate telescopic materials handlers in a range of working conditions, including mining, quarrying, and construction.

Upon completion of the course, participants will have gained the necessary skills and knowledge to operate telescopic materials handlers safely and efficiently and will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for RIIHAN309F Conduct Telescopic Materials Handler Operations.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Diggerman Training offers different integrated tool carrier courses tailored to suit different students needs based on experience and other factors such as time, having access to your own machine and/or to allow students the maximum amount of practical time on the machine itself.

Students will learn to operate an telehandler in a safe and efficient manner. The course will include the following:

  • Plan and prepare
  • Conduct machine pre-operational checks
  • operating the telescopic materials handler
  • attaching and securing appropriate lifting gear
  • shifting the load
  • selecting, fitting, testing, using and removing attachments, which must be certified and approved in line with workplace procedures
  • transporting the machine and equipment between work sites
  • parking and securing equipment

Your training will be divided up into two parts firstly theory and once that is completed a practical section. After being taught all the required theoretical knowledge and practical skills you will be tested on both areas.

Upon successful completion of the unit a Statement of Attainment will be issued. Participants will receive a wallet card consisting of one (1) nationally recognised unit of competency.

Long Sleeve Hi-Visibility Shirt (or Long Sleeve Shirt with a Hi-Visibility Vest), Long Pants, Steel Cap Safety Boots, Hard Hat (Optional), Safety Glasses (Optional).

Training is conducted at our main office (13 Junction Drive Coolum, Queensland 4573).
