Course Overview:

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to operate, load, haul and dump materials using an articulated haul truck.

Why should I attend?

Persons who are working in, or intend to work in the building, road maintenance, mining and/or construction industries operating a haul truck to perform various tasks.

How long will the training take?

Diggerman Training offers different courses tailored to suit different students’ needs based on experience and other factors such as time, having access to your own machine and/or to allow students the maximum amount of practical time on the machine.

Who is eligible to undertake this training?

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Students will learn to…

Students will learn to operate a Haul Truck in a safe and efficient manner. The course will include the following:

  • Plan and prepare
  • Conduct machine pre-operational checks
  • Operate a haul truck
  • Load, haul, and dump materials
  • Relocate the haul truck
  • Carry out machine operator maintenance
  • Cleanup

How is the course conducted and assessed?

Your training will be divided up into two parts firstly theory and once that is completed a practical section. After being taught both how to operate a haul truck correctly and all the required theoretical knowledge you will be tested on both areas.

Qualification outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the unit a Statement of Attainment will be issued. Participants will receive a wallet card consisting of one (1) nationally recognised unit of competency.
